BELAKU Initiative

Imagine a child, bright-eyed and full of potential, sitting at home because her family cannot afford school fees or even a proper meal. Across India, millions of children face this reality—UNICEF reports that nearly 6 million children aged 6–14 are out of school, and countless others struggle with inconsistent learning due to hunger and poverty. This is the challenge that inspired the BELAKU Initiative.

BELAKU, meaning "light", is our way of bringing hope, guidance, and opportunity to every child who deserves it. Through BELAKU, the Chinivar Foundation ensures that children are not just fed, but also educated, mentored, and empowered to break the cycle of poverty. Our work revolves around three core projects: BELAKU Aahara (food support), BELAKU Shikshana (education access and mentorship), and BELAKU Shaale (residential support for holistic development).
