BELAKU AAHARA 3

A Month of Warm Meals, Warm Smiles

Hunger never shouts.
It quietly sits in a child's eyes… in the way they stop asking for more, in the way they struggle to focus in class, in how their dreams slowly become smaller.

At Chinivar Foundation, we carry one simple belief close to our hearts:
No child should have to choose between learning and eating.

In November 2025, through our Belaku Aahara initiative, we had the privilege of being part of 25 children's everyday lives at Jana Seva Orphanage. By donating groceries worth ₹20,125, we weren't just sending bags of rice and pulses—we were sending warmth, care, and a quiet promise:

"For this month, your plates will be full. Your hearts can rest. Your dreams can breathe."

This wasn't just a donation.
It was 30 days of comfort.
30 days of home-cooked meals.
30 days of telling each child,
"You matter. Your future matters."

Jana Seva Orphanage: Where Broken Stories Are Gently Rewritten

In a quiet lane in Bangalore, there is a home where many childhoods have restarted.

Founded in 2013, JANA SENA SAMRUDDI FOUNDATION (Jana Seva Orphanage) has been a shelter for children who have experienced more pain than many adults ever will. Behind every child there, there is a story: a child who lost both parents too early, a child whose single parent couldn't afford even one meal a day, a child who was pulled out of school to work, a child rescued from situations no child should ever face.

Today, they care for 25 bright, beautiful souls and give them what every child deserves: a school bag instead of a burden, nutritious food instead of skipped meals, timely medical care instead of silent suffering, and a life filled with play, festivals, activities, and friendships instead of loneliness. Above all, they offer a safe, clean, loving home where each child is known by name and seen as a person with a future.

What makes Jana Seva truly special is not just what they do, but what they believe:

"Give a child the right environment, and they will one day stand tall on their own."

And that belief is already coming true.
Some of the children who once lived here, studied here, cried and laughed here, have grown up, finished college, and now work at the same orphanage. They return as mentors, as staff, as older brothers and sisters. The home that once held their hand is now a place they hold up with their own.

That is the magic of love given consistently over the years.

A Circle of People Who Care

No change happens alone. Jana Seva Orphanage is surrounded by people who quietly step in to support. Government school teachers come after school hours to teach and guide the children. A warm-hearted team of seven caregivers manages everything from food to studies to bedtime routines, making sure every child feels noticed and heard. A safe van brings the children to and from school every day, turning education into a daily reality rather than a distant dream.

The environment they maintain is clean, organic, and deeply nurturing. Here, every child is seen, heard, and encouraged to grow. Children are not admitted randomly. The team carefully surveys and verifies each case, ensuring that those who come in are the ones who truly, desperately need help.

This is not a place where charity is simply given.
This is a place where dignity is restored.

This isn't just an orphanage.
It is a sanctuary.
A second chance.
A home that says, "You are not alone anymore."

Belaku Aahara: When Food Becomes Love on a Plate

In November 2025, Chinivar Foundation, through Belaku Aahara, became a small part of the kitchen that feeds these 25 children every day.

We contributed rice and wheat, pulses and lentils, cooking oil and essential spices, along with two large pressure cookers of 20 litres and 12 litres.

What does that look like in real life?

It looks like steaming plates of idli or upma in the morning, simple and wholesome rice, sambar, vegetables and dal for lunch, a little snack in the evening after school, and a comforting dinner before bedtime.
Every single day, for all 25 children, through the entire month.

This support meant that no child slept hungry. Every child received regular, balanced, home-cooked food. The orphanage could save on monthly food expenses and use those funds for school fees, books, stationery, medical needs, and better facilities.

Food is never just food.
For a child, a full plate whispers:

"You are cared for.
You are not forgotten.
You are part of a family."

From Our Heart to Theirs

At Chinivar Foundation, we feel deeply honoured to have walked beside Jana Seva Orphanage this month.

We admire their quiet, unwavering commitment to education and holistic development, their careful and responsible way of identifying the most vulnerable children, and their efforts to maintain a healthy, disciplined, and loving environment. Day after day, they choose patience, compassion, and structure over shortcuts.

Our support may have been for one month of groceries.
But the real work—the everyday, tireless, emotional work—is being done by them, day after day, year after year.

For that, our hearts are full of respect and gratitude.

Looking Ahead: More Plates, More Smiles, More Futures

Belaku Aahara is more than a program.
It is a promise—to ourselves and to these children—
that hunger should never be the reason a dream is delayed or destroyed.

As we look ahead, we know we cannot do this alone. We invite you—as an individual, a family, a group of friends, or a company—to become part of this story.

You can choose to stand behind a child's monthly meals, help with their education, support their medical needs, contribute to better living spaces, or even give your time and presence as a volunteer. Every plate you help fill, every notebook you help buy, every moment you spend with a child becomes part of their story of becoming stronger, braver, and more hopeful.

Together, we can do more than feed stomachs.
We can feed hope, self-belief, and the feeling that:

"My life matters. My future is possible."
